The Short Version: There is no registration, account creation, or sign-up required. Your watchlist, drama progress, and favorites are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded to any personal server. We show ads through Google AdMob, which collects an advertising ID, and use Google Firebase for crash logs and diagnostics. We never sell your personal data.

1. Information We Collect

None. The app does not ask for your name, email address, password, phone number, contacts, or credit card details.

Information Collected Automatically

To keep the application stable and monetize via advertising, third-party SDKs automatically collect standard operational data:

We do not collect precise GPS location, sensitive personal identifiers, photos, media files, or private messages.

Data Stored Exclusively on Your Device

Your personal watchlist, reading/watching history, favorited dramas, search history, and settings are saved locally in an SQLite Room database on your phone. They are never sent to our servers. Clearing the app storage or uninstalling the app permanently erases this local data.

2. Device Permissions

INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Needed to fetch drama metadata, posters, trailers, and show advertisements.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+): Optional. Used solely if you opt in to receive airing alerts for newly released episodes. You can disable this anytime in your phone settings.

3. Third-Party Services & APIs

The app relies on trusted third-party providers for data and services:

The Movie Database (TMDB): Source of Asian Drama (K-Drama, C-Drama, J-Drama) metadata, cast information, synopsis, ratings, and poster artwork. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. TMDB Terms of Use

4. Outbound Links to Streaming Services

When you select “Where to Watch” or click on an official trailer/streaming provider, the app opens official licensed third-party services (such as Netflix, Viki, Disney+, Crunchyroll, or YouTube). We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or policies of these external platforms.

5. Content & Copyright Notice

Companion & Discovery App: K-Drama does not host, upload, stream, or broadcast any video or media files. All materials displayed (titles, posters, cast names, plot overviews, ratings) are non-commercial metadata provided via public APIs. All trailers are streamed directly from official publisher channels on YouTube. K-Drama is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any television network or streaming provider.

6. Your Privacy Rights & Choices

Reset or Delete Advertising ID: You can reset or delete your Android Advertising ID at any time via Settings → Privacy → Ads to opt out of personalized advertising.
Manage Notifications: You can enable or disable episode notifications in Settings → Apps → K-Drama → Notifications.
Erase All Data: Because your data lives only on your device, you can delete everything immediately by clearing the app cache/data via Settings → Apps → K-Drama → Storage → Clear Data or by uninstalling the application.

7. Children’s Privacy

K-Drama is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take immediate corrective measures.

8. Security

All network communications between K-Drama and third-party APIs use secure Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS). In accordance with Android security best practices, cleartext (unencrypted HTTP) traffic is strictly disabled.
